God's Prescription for Health

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment (strength) to your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8

I believe God's interest in you extends to your whole person -- body, soul and spirit. Salvation is God's rescue of the entire person, and healing is God's complete repair, in order that we may accomplish His will with our bodies.

It is God's nature to heal. It's who He is and what He does. In Exodus 15, God revealed Himself as Jehovah Rophe -- I am the Lord, who heals you.

God provides healing by the stripes Jesus bore -- Isaiah 53:45.
We receive healing by faith -- even by the faith of friends -- Mark 2:1-12.
The prayer offered in faith makes the sick well again -- James 5:15.
Forget not His benefits -- who heals all your diseases -- Psalm 103:3
His words are life and health to a mans whole body -- Proverbs 4:20-22.
God's word penetrates even to your physical body -- Hebrews 4:12.
A reverential fear of the Lord results in nourishment -- Proverbs 3:7-8.

Father God, You are my primary physician. You have given me a prescription to follow. Give me a hatred for evil so that I will shun temptation, instead of entertain it. Grant me grace to reverence Your name in every circumstance. Hallowed be Your name!
