Broken-hearted? There's a CureRev. Dr. Michael S. Barry, Director of Pastoral Care, CTCA/Eastern Regional Medical Center
And Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. Matt. 9:35 As a chaplain at a cancer hospital, I am often lured into trying to learn everything I can about cancer; its causes, remedies, types and stages. However, I’m not here to help patients or family members understand these things as there are people who have dedicated their life to such and are much more qualified than I to explain them. Further, it really doesn’t matter to me what kind of cancer a person has, or what stage it is, or what medicine is being prescribed. Regardless of physical condition, the spiritual needs remain the same. My responsibility is tending to a person’s spiritual needs: bringing, in the name of Jesus, healing to those who would seek same. Do you have a broken heart in need of healing? If so, consider these words from the great preacher, Charles Spurgeon: Broken-hearted? Today, right now, allow Jesus to pour His healing blood upon your brokenness. Strong medicine for you and me. What can wash away our sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. |
